Bakersfield Kart Club Rules

1. All karts utilizing the Bakersfield Kart Raceway will meet all current International Karting Federation (IKF) minimum specifications. Any competitor may be ask to comply with additional safety items as deemed necessary by a board member… your safety is our prime concern . No driving of karts in pit areas. Members must have in their position when at the facilities, their current Bakersfield Kart Raceway membership card.

2. All two-cycle engines are required to be equipped with an approved air box, (kid karts are exempt). All four-cycle engines are required to be equipped with an approved muffler.

3. All drivers, without exception, must wear approved safety gear; i.e. helmet with face shield or goggles, full finger gloves, drivers suit (or similar pre-approved attire), neck brace with insert, and protective shoes.

4. Drip pans, fire extinguisher, waste oil container(s), and first aid kits are required in every pit. Pits are the responsibility of each member and are to be kept clean.

5. Be courteous and safe to all drivers, senior and experienced drivers must exercise caution when practicing with junior and rookie drivers, Kid Karts will practice by class and have access to the track on the hour and half hour for a maximum of ten (10) minutes each session. Track is to be run in a counter clockwise direction.

6. The Bakersfield Kart Raceway is for membership usage. Please care for the facilities… they are your own. Be responsible.

7. Members are encouraged to bring prospective new members to the track as their guest, please do not abuse this privilege, members will assume all responsibility for their guests actions. Members may bring each guest one (1) time.

8. VOLUNTEER, every successful organization needs it's members to be involved. Members are expected to help maintain the facility and may be called upon on race day for their assistance.

9. Protect your pet, leash law is in effect… cleanup is your responsibility!

10. Discarding of gas, oil, tires, or any hazardous waste at the track will result in disqualification of race and all violators will be brought before the board. On non-race days, violators will also be brought before the board. All violations could result in, and up to and including lose of membership.

11. Make it fun for everyone, follow these simple rules. Be respectful of others.
